Convenience is the Key
The North Side
is one of the longest established areas in
Lethbridge. Miners cottages were established here over a hundred
years ago. The industrial zone of the city is centered on the North side and this
makes it popular with people working there.
Along with
the convenience of proximity to work, there are
adequate recreational opportunities on the North side of the city.
Peenaquim, Alexander and Pavan are three excellent wilderness parks,
nestled along the tree-lined Oldman River Valley. These
parks include hiking and horse trails, as well as picnic areas close
to the Oldman River.
Excellent Amenities
The majority
of Real Estate is in the 40 to 60 year-old age
range, with many of the senior occupied homes being maintained in
excellent condition. There are nine schools, two swimming pools, two
tennis courts and one skate park in the North.
The Uplands Real estate
development is starting to push
the northern boundaries of the city further out, and the new Legacy
Ridge sub-division will spread development to the boundaries of Hardieville, a once isolated small community about 2 kilometers to the
north of Lethbridge.
Shopping amenities will improve
dramatically when the new Walmart store and shopping mall open in
North Lethbridge. This will be the second Walmart in Lethbridge.
Safeways and Sobeys are also conveniently located on the North side.
